Being recognized by Shoutout Colorado was a big moment for Simply. It’s not every day you get to share your story with a platform that highlights real people doing what they love. In this feature, we talked about how Simply Sneakers came to life, what’s kept it growing, and what the grind really looks like behind the scenes.

Here’s a look at part of that conversation.

Hi David, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?

The most important factor behind my success is my care for what I put out into the market. I care about the product that I put out, and I care about how my customers feel after buying from me. Many sneaker resellers buy shoes in any condition and sell them in the same condition they received them. There can be a wide range of conditions for your products, that’s a clean, dirty, box, no box, etc. Here at Simply Sneakers, you will never get a dirty pair of shoes. I clean all my shoes to the best of my abilities, and if a shoe comes in without a box, a replacement box will be made, which will also include a custom shoe box label. Just like if you were to get the shoes from any retailer. Not a lot of similar businesses will even go to half that effort, and the reason for that is that most resellers care more about quantity, while I care more about quality.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Here at Simply Sneakers, we buy and sell shoes you can’t always find just anywhere — from kids’ to men’s sizes, covering releases from the early 2000s to today. A lot of resellers do what I do, but what sets me apart is the photography, attention to detail, and the fact that I balance all this while finishing college, working part-time, and navigating life as a young adult.

It takes a lot of patience, passion, and hard work, but that’s what keeps me moving. I know challenges will always come — even when Simply becomes full-time — and I look forward to them because they’re proof of growth.

Running this business has taught me a lot — especially how to handle people and situations professionally, even when things don’t go as planned. Your business is only as strong as your mindset, and learning to stay grounded has been huge for me.

At the end of the day, Simply Sneakers is more than just sneakers. It’s a community for sneakerheads, creatives, and anyone who loves the culture. I’m more than just someone who sells shoes — I’ve been through a lot, and I want to use what I’ve learned to make a difference, both in this industry and in my community.
